América Latina y el Caribe adoptará acuerdo de reconocimiento de estudios en educación superior 
Del 11 al 13 de julio de 2019, en el Palacio San Martín de Buenos Aires, tendrá lugar la Conferencia Internacional de Estados para la adopción del nuevo Convenio UNESCO para el Reconocimiento de Estudios, Títulos y Diplomas de Educación Superior en América Latina y el Caribe.
En la ocasión, representantes de gobiernos de los Estados Miembros de la región, observadores, y organismos internacionales, se reunirán para adoptar el texto del nuevo Convenio, convocados por el Instituto Internacional de la UNESCO para la Educación Superior en América Latina y el Caribe (UNESCO-IESALC), el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto y el Ministerio de Educación de la República Argentina.
El ministro de Educación, Cultura, Ciencia y Tecnología de Argentina, Sr. Alejandro Finocchiaro, asistirá al evento, que contará con la presencia del nuevo director del IESALC, Dr. Francesc Pedró. Entre los temas que se abordarán durante las tresjornadas de trabajo se cuentan los desafíos para la movilidad en la educación superior (ES) en América Latina y el Caribe, incluyendo el aseguramiento de la calidad, además de la discusión en torno al contenido del nuevo Convenio.
El documento recoge los consensos acumulados en reuniones previas realizadas desde el año 2016 por el grupo de trabajo encargado de la revisión del anterior Convenio Regional de 1974. El grupo fue creado en el 2015 en Reunión Ministerial de Alto Nivel realizada en Brasil, ocasión en la que se solicitó al IESALC la coordinación del grupo en su calidad de Secretaría del Convenio. Latin America and the Caribbean to adopt agreement for the recognition of studies in higher education 
The International Conference of States for the adoption of the new Regional Convention on the Recognition of Studies, Degrees and Diplomas in Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean 1974, will take place in the San Martin Palace of Buenos Aires, on July 11-13, 2019.

Convened by the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO-IESALC), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Argentina, representatives from the Member States of the Region, observers, and international organizations will be attending the Conference.

The Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology of Argentina, Mr. Alejandro Finocchiaro, will be present at the meeting, as well as the recently appointed Director of UNESCO-IESALC, Dr. Francesc Pedró. Among the themes included in the agenda for the three-day conference are the challenges of higher education (HE) mobility in Latin America and the Caribbean, including quality assurance, as well as the discussion on the specific content of the new Convention.

The document is the result of the consensus accumulated in previous meetings since 2016 by the workgroup in charge of reviewing the text of 1974. The workgroup was created at the High-Level Ministerial Meeting held in Brazil in 2015, date on which IESALC was requested to coordinate the group as the Secretariat of the Convention.
